Kiln-Formed Glass Murrini Workshop (2-Day Intensive)
Join me for a two-day, hands-on workshop exploring the process of creating kiln-formed glass murrini—decorative patterned rods that can be incorporated into future fused glass designs, including jewelry, plates, and sculptural work.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to design and build your own murrini patterns using Bullseye COE 90 glass, then fire and process them into unique components ready for use in your artwork.

This is where technique meets play—pattern, color, and process all come together in a way that expands your creative language in glass.
Day 1: Design + Construction
• Understanding murrini design and pattern planning
• Layering and building glass in the kiln
• Exploring color interaction and transparency
• Preparing your work for firing
Day 2: Revealing + Application
• Cutting and revealing your murrini patterns
• Coldworking and refining your pieces
• Design ideas for incorporating murrini into future projects
• Demonstrations of applications in jewelry and fused work
You’ll leave with a collection of your own handmade murrini and the knowledge to continue exploring this technique in your own studio practice.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.

Class time is defined as a structured period that begins at a specified start time and concludes at an end time, allowing for a half-hour on completion period. This layaway time offers students a brief interval to complete their projects and prepare for their departure from the studio. However, if projects are not completed within the last half-hour grace of the designated end time, a fee of $35 will be incurred for each additional half-hour required. This policy ensures that students are encouraged to manage their time effectively while also maintaining the integrity of the class schedule.
