Elevate the everyday with this modern fused glass workshop focused on creating a refined butter dish or rectangular serving plate.
In this class, you’ll design and build a sleek, functional piece using a variety of glass techniques—from clean linear compositions to mosaic-style layouts and organic, painterly applications. Whether you’re drawn to bold stripes, structured grids, or soft abstract imagery, this project becomes a beautiful balance of art and utility.
You’ll learn how to:
• Design with intention using color, line, and composition
• Work with sheet glass, stringers, frit, and reactive elements
• Build for both aesthetics and function (yes—thinking like glass 😉)
• Prepare your piece for kiln firing and final slumping into form
No two pieces will be alike—each student will leave with a finished design that reflects their personal style while exploring the interaction of glass, heat, and gravity.

Materials:
We’ll be working with Bullseye COE 90 glass. Stringers and base glass are provided unless you specify otherwise.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.
Small Class SIZE is limited to 12 students.

Class time is defined as a structured period that begins at a specified start time and concludes at an end time, allowing for a half-hour on completion period. This layaway time offers students a brief interval to complete their projects and prepare for their departure from the studio. However, if projects are not completed within the last half-hour grace of the designated end time, a fee of $35 will be incurred for each additional half-hour required. This policy ensures that students are encouraged to manage their time effectively while also maintaining the integrity of the class schedule.
