NEW Feather Bowl :: February 19 Wednesday 6-8 PM
In this engaging workshop, I'll delve into the art of crafting a beautiful glass piece that features intricate linear designs made with 1mm glass rods and ribbons. I’ll experiment with both transparent and opal hues for the feather plate, but feel free to choose any color combinations you prefer.
We’ll be working with an 8"x4" glass plate, and you will acquire skills in cutting the glass and adding the stingers and rods into your designs. The session will also explore the science behind glass, including its chemistry, firing temperatures, and how it reacts to heat. Since it's a one-day event, I’ll need to collect my finished project later, as the glass requires 50 hours of firing in the kiln. This workshop is ideal for me as a novice who has no prior experience working with glass.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.
Small Class SIZE is limited to 12 students.
Studio address: 422 West 900 South Unit 107, Salt Lake City UT 84101
