Textured Glass In A Box Frame :: Dec. 21, Saturday 1-3PM
Textured Glass Finished in a box frame with aluminum backing. This class will focus on creating a textured glass artwork filled with overlapping colors. We will use transparent colors in a natural gradient of sea blue, in plate form, although you can choose any color gradients you prefer. The image shown is in a beach scene. We can see Sunset themes would translate nicely to this technique.
Each participant will receive a 4"x4" glass plate to work with. You will learn how to score and cut glass into strips, as well as the science of glass, firing temperatures, and how glass reacts to heat. Please note that projects will need to be picked up at a later date as the glass needs to be fired in a kiln for a total of 50 hours. This workshop is designed for beginners with no prior experience in working with glass.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.
Small Class SIZE is limited to 12 students.
