Did you know that you can make amazing jewelry with metal silver clay and glass cabochons? Well you can...and now is the time to learn.
Meet Your Instructors: Stephanie Chavez and Sarinda Jones
Day 1: March 9 1:00 pm-3:00pm
You will be working with Sarinda Jones to make several cabochons. In this workshop you will learn how to place the color strips of glass to create dots, blobs and or cabochons in various sizes. You will be able to make several glass cabochons. Choosing your favorite one to be incorporated into your pendant design on the second day of this workshop.
You will also learn the chemistry of glass, firing temperatures and how glass behaves under heat. pick up of projects at a later date due to firing the glass in the kiln takes 24 hours total.
Day 2: March 16 1:00 pm-3:00pm
You will choose your favorite cabochon that you have created to craft a delightful and stunning pendant. You will be working with fine silver metal clay to encase your glass cabochon, creating a masterpiece. Along the way, you will learn numerous metal clay techniques and invaluable tips and tricks. In addition you'll learn the best practices to fire silver clay and glass together.
Glass supplies and 15 grams of silver clay are provided in the price of the workshop.
Pick up of projects is scheduled at a later date due to firing the glass in the kiln takes two days of firing. Generally a week after the last workshop.
Small Class SIZE is limited to 12 students.
