Mosaic Fused Glass Plate :: September 20 Friday 6-8 pm
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to craft a stunning glass art piece that creates a sense of depth using "Frit," which consists of tiny shards of sheet glass. Students will incorporate both transparent and opal hues in a bowl design, while also having the freedom to choose any color variations that appeal to each student.
Each participant will be provided with a 4" glass bowl or plate to customize. I will learn how to thoughtfully arrange small glass tiles to achieve depth in my creation, then fill in the gaps with additional glass to resemble grout, even though everything is made of glass.
The workshop will also explore subjects like glass chemistry, firing temperatures, and the behavior of glass under heat. Given that the kiln firing process can take up to 50 hours, you will return later to collect my finished masterpiece. This workshop welcomes beginners who are new to working with glass.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.
Small Class SIZE is limited to 12 students.
