Textured Leaf Sun Catcher :: September 27 2024 Friday 6-8 pm
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create a beautiful glass sun catcher with textured and overlapping colors. We will be using transparent colors in a natural gradient, specifically in leaf variation and in a hanging form. However, you are welcome to explore different color gradients if you prefer.
Each participant will receive a 3"x3" glass Leaf sun catcher.
Throughout the workshop, you will learn how to score and cut glass into strips, as well as gain knowledge about the chemistry of glass, firing temperatures, and how glass behaves under heat. Please note that the glass will be fired in a kiln, which will take a total of 24 hours. Therefore, projects will need to be picked up at a later date.
This workshop is designed for beginners who have never worked with glass before. It's a great opportunity to learn and explore the art of kilnformed textured glass.
Classes are on average 2-3 hours depending on the students interaction.
