ZOOM :: Master Class Glass Pattern Bars :: 2 Day August 13 & 14
In this 2 day intermediate Zoom class Sarinda will share new ways to create components for projects using segments of glass constructed using pattern bars.
Pattern bars are slabs of glass that are fused together, then cut into thin slices and fused into designed projects. Pattern bars designs are repetitive geometric patterns or can be organic and flowing in nature. In this workshop you will leave with nine different pattern bars and numerous ways of using the designs in your work.
I have always love creating with pattern bars. This is a wonderful way to create and can pull you out of any creative slump. We will be discovering nine different designs, many color combinations, techniques, and how to use these lovelies in your creations. We will discuss traditional bars and unique modern pattern designs. Flowing from flow
patterns to dynamic geometric bars. Think of kaleidoscope dreams of Rorschach.
You will also need a tile saw for these projects. I use an MK tile saw with a 10” Diamond bit blade. I spend a lot on a good blade as it is so worth the investment. If you want to do larger pattern bars (2-3”I don’t make many larger than 2”) you will need the 10” blade. Yet, remember that you can adjust the size of the pattern bar to accommodate the smaller tile saw blade. Just some creative reengineering.
Class will be 3 weeks one day each week for about 2 hours.
